Westport Maritime Museum

Our historic museum building was built in 1939 to serve as the Coast Guard's Lifeboat Station, Grays Harbor. The Colonial Revival structure served in that role until 1972 when a new station was built several blocks to the South. The Maritime Museum opened in the Old Coast Guard building in 1985.

Exhibits in the main building include:

* The Coast Guard on the South Beach
* Cranberry Growing
* Life on the Edge of the ocean
* Whales and Whaling.
* Destruction Island Lens Exhibit

There is also a Discovery Room
that is hands-on ways to learn about the
ocean and marine life.

Adjacent to the main building are two "Whale
Houses" that exhibit sea mammal skeletons.
