Greetings- I am looking for photos of the old Catala Shipwreck that happened in Grays Harbor back in 1965. We used to play on that as kids, and we were having so much fun, my parents never got any pictures of us on that wreck. I am looking for either personal photos or professional photos, if any one has any they would be willing to sell, or copy and sell, whatever. Please e-mail me at Carl.Alexander@attbi.com or call 360-690-4455. Many thanks! Hope to find some out there somewhere.

Hello!! I was very surprised to find Westport in the internet so easily. I have lived in this town for 10 monthes as an exchange student in 1993-1994. I went to Ocosta High-School and graduated in 1994. The following years I made sure to be able to visit for at least one week per year. Some of you might remember me (I hope). However, as time passed on, I started to lose contact to most of the people in the area. I would be very happy to hear from those who remember me... .

We're just back home after a terrifically fun time fishing, (this year it was on the Blue Eyes). The days were SO sunny and the surf so clear! We really had fun. It's so hard to come home. Westport Charters has the best crew to fish with. Always professional and really helpful with us novices. And the surfers...........WOW! Pretty cool to this land locked girl!

Afternoon - My husband and I have a retirement home we are working on just outside of Westoprot in the bay City area. Every Monday when I return to work I talk about Westport and the Grayland area, it just amazes me that weveryone asks where Westport and Grayland are are! I was also wondering if you could post the the area map that used to be in the weekly paper that showed with dotted lines the wash-away beach area. Everyone I talk to about it doesn't believe what's happening there. Maybe you could include some of that history on your site! Thanks - counting down the days till retirement! something like 4745, :-(

I fell in love with Westport while stationed there in the Coast Guard back in the 70's! If you have never been there you need to go! I loved to watch the winter storms. I loved to watch the rain in the beam from the lighthouse, which was near my house (like 150 feet). Sometimes the breakers would hit the nearby beach so hard that the house would rattle. Summers are wonderful also. I need to get back there soon for a visit!

Loved this website. We are planning a move to the Washington Coast-- If we had to choose between 4 cities, could anyone fill me in on the best? Those cities are: Ocean City, Ocean Shores, Westport, or Grayland. Looking for job opportunities there also. My husband works as a physical therapist technician at a hospital in Newport, Or. He also is a fire fighter/EMT/CPR teacher and instructor trainer. We would like to not have to commute to a larger city inland for necessities-- groceries, pharmacies, doctors, churches, and schools, etc. Please, someone help us relocate by Spring of next year, 2001. I am disabled with M.S. and Fibromyalgia, so need the ocean air. We are also raising our 2 1/2-yr. old grandson, so need somewhere close for preschool, etc. Thanks!! Bonnie Slinkard P.S.-- Can someone tell me how to locate local pictures of Westport and Grayland?

I have a friend who is a fisherman on the "Sea Breeze". He called me the other day and told me about Westport. I am a small town girl who is looking to settle in a small town, that will stay a small town. Is that Westport? Brian seems to like the area and told me that I could find that cabin in the mountains that I so long for. Brian told me that you all take good care of the fisherman their. Thank you so much. Brian has been a good friend to me for 14 years and sure would hate to lose him now. Thank you.

Westport is my home away from home -- when I was little my family came to Westport every summer for a week or two -- we stayed at "El Shako" which was a very old cabin that my great uncle owned. Now 40 years later I'm seriously considering making the move to Westport if I can just convince my husband that it truly is the best place on earth! I would love to teach at O'Costa Jr. High. I am so excited to find this website - it makes me homesick for the sound of the fog horn.

This is a nifty website.I went to OHS, class of 68 and finally got back to Westport in 1995. Wow the "new" school looks good but was a total shock. The old school opened the first year I started going to school. Exscuse me while I try to reach my Geritol bottle! And what happened to the beach?? Where did it go? Lots of changes but mostly it was the same. I enjoyed the visit, especially the big dish of crab that I got from Nelsons and ate while wandering around the docks. Ah memories!
